So, yes, we have been lax in updating this page. We (=Chris) have been finishing up our schooling and getting set to move to exciting Toronto for grad school. We have a show tomorrow, a house show, that will also be farewell party, and you should come. There will be a free new tM3 EP given away there, and you can hear a song from it on our MySpace page. There will be a new Spirit Duplicator EP as well, which is exciting. Details on the sidebar. I am also giving a final reading earlier that night -- you should come to that too.
So, no, we're not dead -- we're just moving to Canada.

First off: Come tonight to the Red Room to hear me sing the first songs I ever wrote! Me and Jake and Ross and Jack and Dave and a bunch of other people!
Let's get back into the habit of writing about shows! Let's, shall we?
Last night was the first post-dissolution set for us (me? us?). At Kelly's Olympian, which we had just played as a full band a few months ago. This was part of PDXPOSE, a new series of bands + art stuff. We (I? we?) played with Minmae and Southerly, who both put in solid rock out sets. I (we? I?), on the other hand, mostly went quiet -- well, except for the songs where I screamed. The art, by Dan Williams and especially Heidi Elise Wirz, was as treat.
My set most consisted of songs I (we? I?) never could pull off with a full band (Revolutionary's Love Song, Chickens) or which I wanted to see if I could do without the band (Omaha). You can, for at least a while, grab an mp3 of the show, which has a few moments of SUDDENLY BECOMING LOUD and features a lot of string buzz but is, you know, listenable enough. N.B. Do not listen to it if you are my mother, maybe. This is my advice.
1. Omaha
2. Admonishment
3. The Lothario's Lamentation
4. I'm Easy Because I Care
5. The Brown, Brown World (March)
6. Houston
7. Chickens
8. Tattoo
9. The Revolutionary's Love Song

Well, even though we've broken up as a full band, the Minor Thirds are still playing shows as a solo me, more or less. January 31 at Kelly's Olympian we'll be debuting the new me, at an art and music showcase, opening up for Minmae and Southerly; it should be a delight. The next day we -- I -- hey, give me a few more months to decide how to do this editorial voice -- will be playing a show called "Tried Tried Again", in which a bunch of local songwriters (including many of tM3's dear friends) will be playing the first song they ever wrote; there is no earthly reason to miss this show.
Also at some point I will go in and fill in the details about the last two full band shows. I have been a bit busy. That last show was particularly nice, though, and hopefully you were there for it.
